Story
The God of Nightmares and his forces have been vanquished, but celebration is cut short as Cabal warships enshroud the skies throughout the galaxy, carrying the banner of a Legion long thought to have been defeated. In the chaos that follows, Tha'aurk and Amtec, powerful loyalists to the Red Legion, have risen to power and begun corrupting human defenders from every universe, seeking to harness their powers and finish what Dominus Ghaul started in bringing his vision of the new Cabal age to fruition through the Light.
Join forces with Vanguard coalition defenders and Taylor Archwell, the City's newest ally, and venture into the foulest depths of the reborn Almighty to free the brainwashed fighters' souls from Cabal dominance and prevent another Red War.

In the wake of the Almighty's sudden return, Hinamizawa Syndrome outbreak surges have resulted in Cabal forces taking up arms on multiple destinations – prepared to defend the glory of the Red Legion. In this six-player matchmade activity, Guardians will engage in ritual combat against Tha'aurk's Risen warriors to purify the human prisoners' souls of the virus that has defiled them.

In June 1983, Rika Furude, the daughter of the Furude clan, fell victim to Miyo Takano's cataclysmic plot to bring about the Great Hinamizawa Disaster that scourged the entire village, but Hanyuu used her powers to take Rika back in time to a parallel world where she rallied her friends to bring down Miyo and her Mountain Hounds and finally end the loop. Unbeknownst to them, though, the Hinamizawa Syndrome took its roots on more than one front, and this time, its curse has brought the war far too close to our home.
Three months after Mallory Bertha's wish brought the Avatars' vengeance upon the multiverse, the Red Legion have found a window of opportunity in the form of Miyo's last will—a testament that has revived the legacy brought forth by Dominus Ghaul with the Red War. Guardians, her terror must end, no matter the cost.
